The Best Care
is Home Care!
Caring for our minds
Did you know that one in three seniors with mental health concerns never receive treatment? This was a surprise to us as well, considering 20 percent of adults over age 55 suffer from one or more types of mental illness. It is easy to assume that Alzheimers or...
Summer Heat
Summer is here, and July is typically the hottest month of the year for the Mid-Atlantic. Enjoying the outdoors and soaking in the Vitamin D are a great relief from a dreary spring, but we need to be mindful of the extra stresses on our bodies associated with high...
Celebrating Summer Responsibly
In many cultures, it's not a celebration unless it includes alcohol. Many families have drinks specific for a holiday that have been customs for generations and are looked forward to throughout the season. It's also easy to say “I'm finally retired and I deserve it!”...
Are you ready for an emergency?
In an instant, life can throw us a curve ball. While we can't be ready for every situation, most emergencies around the house can be navigated safely and effectively if we take a little bit of time to organize. Doing this puts everybody's minds at ease, knowing we...
Kidney Awareness Month
Overworked and underappreciated, our kidneys are essentially sophisticated trash collectors. These two fist-sized filters in our lower backs cycle almost 200 quarts of blood every day and remove excess water, waste, and blood impurities which are sent to the bladder...
Seasonal Depression
Is that miserable feeling simply a case of the winter blues or could it be something more serious? Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is an actual disorder that results in a seasonal depression due to a lack of daylight exposure that throws off one’s biological clock...
Cataracts
Today, more than 24 million Americans over the age of 40 are affected by cataracts. By age 80, more than half of our country's population will either have a cataract or will have already had corrective surgery. A cataract is the clouding of the eye's lens which is...

About Us
Your Own Home, LLC is a Wilmington, DE-based company servicing New Castle County, DE. We have been in business since 2004 and strive to provide an alternative for seniors that allows them to age in their homes. While Your Own Home, LLC is an independently owned and managed business, it is a part of a larger national network called Companion Connection Senior Care which is a national membership organization of non-medical home care agencies. All members have access to recognized experts in the field of home care, as well as the most current educational resources.
The owner of the organization, Gina Deney, began this business as a result of her own experience trying to manage the care of her aging parents while living states away.
“I quickly came to the realization that there is a huge gap today in living options for seniors. Many are still in good health and want to remain independent yet are beginning to need more support and care as they age. What compounds the situation is that we don’t plan ahead, but first deal with this situation at a time of crisis. I feel strongly that this is a generation that has made major contributions to our society and they have earned the right to age with dignity. “
Client Stories
Consistent and reliable care, trustworthy employees, and an unbelievable willingness to go the extra mile. In other home care providers you might get one of these qualities, with your team’s operation you receive all and then some. You have given us a gift much larger than simply peace of mind.
-William
I couldn’t have done without this caregiver. My mother thrived much longer than expected. I owe much of this for not only the level of care but also the agency knowing my needs. I would highly recommend Your Own Home to others.
-Ann
As the Alzheimer’s disease began to take its toll on both of our parents, you and your staff treated both our mom and dad with respect, kindness, compassion and the capabilities needed to help us care for them. You are your staff are the best.
-The Johnson Family
Our parents receive the caregivers undivided attention; their meals are catered to their specific needs; their home is kept tidy and they are able to stay in their own home. Knowing that they are being well cared for in a safe, familiar environment has made this transition so much easier for all of us. Thank you Your Own Home. You have become a vital part of our family.
